A pair of very impressive early 20th century Vienna-style porcelain vases and covers

Circa 1900
The ovoid bodies painted with continuous figural scenes, one depicting Christopher Columbus and Emperor Rudolf II visiting his alchemist after Wenzel von (Vaclav) Brozik (Autro-Hungarian, 1851-1901) signed F. Dorft for Franz Dorft, the other depicting Petrarch and Laura at the court of the Pope of Avignon, within foliate and trellis gilt tooled borders, reserved on a cobalt blue ground, the flared necks and shallow domed covers with gilt pine cone finials similarly decorated, the corresponding circular socles raised on waisted plinths, each enamelled with twin oval reserves depicting historical figural scenes, the undersides of the plinths with printed blue factory marks and painted German titles,
