An Italian enamel mounted ebony framed pietre dura panel inset with a pair of painted ovals of the Madonna and an Angel

Possibly originally from a table cabinet, 17th century and later, the panel probably Florentine, perhaps attributable to the Grand Ducal Workshop, the ovals after Fra Bartolommeo, known as Baccio della Porta (Italian, 1472-1517)
The twin ovals probably of a later date and painted on alabaster or marble after originals in the Santisime Annunziata, Florence, set within line and colourful shaped and plain rectangular, circular and lozenge semi-precious and hardstone inlaid decorative borders, the moulded ebony veneere frame with narrow brass inner slip and corresponding shaped rectangular red, green and blue Basse-taille enamel inlaid panels, the rear with remnants of an old typed paper label marked 'LADY PAKINGTON', the panel, 13cm high x 20cm wide, the frame, 21cm high x 27cm wide
