A Marcolini Meissen blue-ground covered portrait cup and saucer, circa 1800-1810

The cup reserved with a gilt-edged oval panel painted in sepia with a half-length portrait of Nelson enclosed by foliate swags and a ribbon in two tones of gilding, titled in black on the base 'Nelson', the saucer with a similar circular panel depicting a naval engagement, the rims with formal gilt borders, the cover with an additional beaded border and a gilt finial, the saucer: 14cm diam.; the cup and cover: 10cm high, crossed swords mark with asterisk (and 4 to the saucer), gilt numeral 122. to saucer (finial restuck) (3)
