A Marcolini Meissen faux-bois-ground covered cup and saucer, early 19th century

Reserved with panels in imitation of marquetry depicting classical figures on an ebonised ground, the rims with beaded borders, the cover with a gilt pinecone finial on a foliate base, the gilt-edged angular handle with leaf terminal, the saucer: 13.6cm diam.; the cup and cover: 9cm high, crossed swords marks and asterix in underglaze-blue, impressed A (cup) and 1 (saucer) (finial restuck, some flaking to gilt rim of cup) (3)
