A Meissen table centrepiece, circa 1870

Modelled by Ernst August Leuteritz, with two putti on a high base moulded with scrollwork and applied with flowers, the shaft moulded with scrollwork enclosing two painted flower sprigs and applied with flowers, mounted with a pierced oval basket moulded with gilt-edged cartouches enclosing flower sprigs and applied with flowers, the inside painted with flower sprigs, scattered blooms and insects, 36.8cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, painter's number 38.
