A pair of Sèvres plates, dated 1790

Painted by Hirel de Choisy and Fontaine, the wells with three stylised flowerheads alternating with arrows surrounded by a maroon-ground border with black pearl bands, the rims decorated with three cartouches enclosing classical vases alternating with long blue-ground panels decorated with blue arabesque scrollwork around classical urns, cornucopias and birds with similar maroon borders, 24cm diam., interlaced LL monograms enclosing date letter NN and painter's marks for Hirel de Choisy and Fontaine in blue (some rim chips) (2)
