A Meissen shell-shaped salt, circa 1740

Painted with two quatrelobe European landscape scenes within a brown-edged gilt cartouche of trellis panels, with scattered insects and flowers in the centre, the gilt-edged rim gilt scale-ground border, on three gilt-edged scroll feet, 8.5cm across; 5.2cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue (some wear to gilding)
