A Meissen teabowl and saucer, circa 1725

Each painted with a chinoiserie scene in the manner of J.E. Schindler, the saucer with a figure holding a parasol and smoking box, the teabowl with a figure poking a brazier, within a qilt quatrelobe scrollwork cartouche filled with Böttger lustre and edges with scrollwork in shades of iron-red, the reverse of the teabowl with flowering branches hanging from the rim and the inside with a circular medallion with flowers inside, gilt scrollwork borders to the rims, the saucer: 12.5cm diam.; the teabowl: 5cm high, gilt numeral 9. to both, incised x inside footrim of saucer (very minor wear, minute chips to rim of teabowl) (2)
