A Dutch Delft monkey-jug, circa 1740-60

Painted in blue with finely detailed facial features and fur, his blue tail curling up to form a loop handle, holding to his mouth a yellow jug forming the spout, and seated on a blue-marbled rock, an inscription on his belly reading 'Kees den aap, dat gekkie geeft melk uit zijn bekkie' [Kees the monkey, that funny one, gives milk from his mouth], 20cm high, x in red to the base (handle and edge of rim restored)
