A French faience pewter-mounted tobacco jar, Saint-Omer, Lille or Paris, 18th century

Of tall cylindrical form with original pewter mount including tamper and locking cover with loop handle, painted in dark manganese, green and yellow with tobacco leaves enclosing the inscription 'Tabac', 38cm high (some chips around foot, some haircracks from top rim down side)
