A Meissen figure of a Greek musician, circa 1750


Modelled by J.J. Kaendler and P. Reinicke, playing the lute, wearing a soft hat edged in iron-red, yellow jacket, white tunic with gilt buttons, a puce sash and brown breeches, on a rectangular brickwork base, 20.3cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue to rear of base (instrument restored, some restoration to fingers on both hands and to tassel of hat)
