The flat-topped inrōbuta (flush-fitting lid) with beveled chiri-i ledge, decorated predominantly in gold hiramaki-e and takamaki-e against a polished gold kinji ground with embellishments of gold foil, depicting a cherry tree in full blossom, the interior of both box and lid decorated in similar techniques against a gold nashiji ground with scattered chrysanthemums, the box with a raised central section enclosing a suzuri (ink-grinding-stone) and a silver gilt suiteki (water dropper) in the form of a chrysanthemum, the rims silver, unsigned
