The jump hour watch displays the hour via a small disc that rotates beneath the aperture at 12. Each time the minute hand passes 12, the disc 'jumps' to the consequent hour.
The first recorded jump hour timepiece was made for King Louis Philippe I of France by French watchmaker Antoine Blondeau in the early 1800's and the mechanism has been used in a large variety of pieces ever since.
The Vacheron Constantin 43041 features the traditional hour display at 12 with a classic guilloché engraved dial in a cushion form case.
