STEINBECK BOUND COPY OF THE NORTH AMERICAN REVIEW ISSUES FEATURING "THE RED PONY."

STEINBECK, JOHN. 1902-1968. North American Review, volumes 236, numbers 5 and 6; 237 number 4 (November and December 1933 and April 1934).
3 volumes bound in one. 8vo (240 x 165 mm). Paper-covered boards, typed labels to upper cover and spine. Interiors mildly thumbsoiled; corners bumped, 45 x 35 mm loss of paper to tail of spine, wear to spine label at edges.

This volume features a typed label to the spine that reads, "Property of J.E. Steinbeck," which may mean that these were bound for presentation to Steinbeck's father, John Ernst Steinbeck, Sr., and either made its way after his death back to John (and thence to Dave Heyler), or to Mary (and thence to Joan). Goldstone & Payne C9, C10, C11.
