A pair of late Louis XV ormolu mounted powder-blue and gilt porcelain jars and covers

The porcelain Kangxi (1662-1722), the mounts third quarter 18th century
The baluster-shaped jars decorated in gilt with cartouches enclosing ribbon tied floral vases reserved on a deep blue ground, the pierced girdles united by channelled scrolling handle mounts, the shallow domed covers painted with flowers and leafy tendrils in gilt, with fruiting foliate knopped finials above formalised foliate collars with gadrooned border, the bodies raised from four tapering pilaster feet with pendant husk cast panels, the undersides with knopped foliate terminals, 22cm wide, 22cm deep, 40cm high (8 1/2in wide, 8 1/2in deep, 15 1/2in high) (2)
