An 18th century Dutch silver tobacco box

Hendrina Das, Amsterdam, 1739
Of oblong form with shaped moulded ends and borders, the cover engraved depicting a King and figures at court, to the centre a roundel with inscription encircling two clasped hands below a flaming heart, the edge with fish-scale engraving, the underside engraved with two religious scenes, the sides include depicting running hounds, the interior of the hinged cover engraved with monogram under coronet among fronds, 13.5cm wide, 6.5cm deep, 4cm high (5in wide, 2 1/2in deep, 1 1/2in high), weight 7.29 troy oz, weight 226.5gms.
