An 18th century Dutch silver tobacco box

Hendrik Swierink, Amsterdam, 1733
Of square form with recessed shaped incurved corners, the sides applied with a large shell motif, open-work acanthus scroll apron below and with each shaped corner on leaf scroll feet, with pull-off shaped high cover, each of the panelled sides with applied anthemion and scroll motifs, surmounted with a faceted knop with overhanging leaf motifs, 12.5cm wide, 12.5cm deep, 17cm high (4 1/2in wide, 4 1/2in deep, 6 1/2in high), weight 23.8 troy oz, weight 729.3gms.
