A RARE GOLD AND SILVER-INLAID BRONZE TRIPOD INCENSE BURNER, DING

Ming Dynasty
The tri-lobed body raised on three tall cylindrical legs, surmounted by a pair of arch handles, elaborately adorned with gold and silver inlay to depict three taotie masks separated by vertical flanges above a band of cicada lappets, wood stand and cover, wood box.

The present lot takes its inspiration from Shang and Zhou dynasties ritual vessels li ding.
