A VERY RARE BRONZE 'LANDSCAPE' INKSTONE BOX AND SEAL
Late Ming Dynasty/Early Qing Dynasty
Brilliantly carved in high relief and openwork with a tall, craggy mountainous scene enclosing a scholar reading in a pavilion, an elderly crossing a bridge and other figures engaging in various activities, surrounded by pine and wutong trees, all supported on a separate seal with a five-character inscription, wood box.
13cm (5 1/8in) high
Brilliantly carved in high relief and openwork with a tall, craggy mountainous scene enclosing a scholar reading in a pavilion, an elderly crossing a bridge and other figures engaging in various activities, surrounded by pine and wutong trees, all supported on a separate seal with a five-character inscription, wood box.
