A SMALL CARVED CINNABAR LACQUER 'PEONY' BOX AND COVER
15th century
The gently domed cover vibrantly carved in varying levels of relief with a radiating foliate peony bloom encircled by smaller flower buds, the box similarly carved, the slightly recessed base lacquered brown, Japanese wood box.
7cm (2 3/4in) diam.
