Of archaic bronze ding vessel form, the compressed globular body supported on three cabriole legs, the body decorated in subtle relief with two 'bow string' bands, flanked by a pair of curving upright loop handles at the shoulder, the stone of a greenish-white tone with beige inclusions, box.

宋 仿古小玉鼎
The present lot takes its inspiration from a Zhou dynasty archaic bronze ding, reflecting the taste for archaism that had already been established since the Northern Song Dynasty.
