Of Sir Robert Lorimer Interest: three wooden carvings probably by the Clow brothers

Carved from sycamore and oak, two hounds and one raptor, 3cm wide, 3cm deep, 15cm high (1in wide, 1in deep, 5 1/2in high), 3cm wide, 3cm deep, 11.7cm high (1in wide, 1in deep, 4 1/2in high) and 3cm wide, 3cm deep, 9.5cm high (1in wide, 1in deep, 3 1/2in high). (3)

Provenance
The carvings were acquired by the vendor's grandfather who was a doctor in Fife covering the Crail and Anstruther areas but was often called to other locations including on one occasion to the lighthouse on the Isle of May. By family repute, these items where acquired from the Lorimer family - it is probable that these carving where working samples, presented to Robert Lorimer for approval by the Clow brothers.
