This collection of important jewelry comes from the Rivalier von Meysenbug and von Grunelius families, who trace their lineage back to 1600's. King Ludwig II of Bavaria gave Karl George Freiherr von Grunelius the title of Baron in exchange for finishing the construction of Neuschwanstein Castle in Schwangau, Germany. Bonhams is pleased to be bringing these heritage pieces to auction after they have spent many generations in this noble family.
