A Rare English Or Lowland Scottish Basket-Hilted Broadsword

With tapering double-edged blade incised with a rubbed running wolf mark on each side forward of the forte, the latter cut with three narrow central fullers on both sides incised 'ANDREA FERARA' between 'x' and 'eyelash' marks, iron guard of slender flat rectangular bars filled with four plates beneath (two missing) and two at the front (minor old holes), two saltires on both sides each centred on a lozenge-shaped panel, upturned quillon at the front, integral half-ring with riveted extension beneath the associated bun-shaped pommel, and replacement spirally-grooved wooden grip (some old wear and pitting overall)
