A Large Italian Corseca Also Known As A Furiloni Or Spetum

Early 16th Century
With broad tapering double-edged blade of flattened diamond section clipped-in at the base and with large up-curved single-edged side-wings at the base, each stamped on one side with circular maker's marks 'Y' with pellets between, and made in one with the faceted socket of tapering circular section with side-straps tapering to a point on both sides, on shortened wooden haft of circular section (some light old pitting)
