The first of regulation pattern, the blade retaining traces of etched decoration and owner's initials 'M.H.E.L.', retaining its bullion sword-knot, and with wire-bound fishskin-covered grip, in its original scabbard, and with nearly all its renickel-plated finish; the second of regulation pattern, the blade stamped with manufacturer's details on one side of the forte 'Weyersburg, Kirschbaum & Cie, Solingen', and with inspector's marks on both sides, guard dated and stamped with regimental marks on the inside, and chequered leather grips (worn), in its original scabbard painted black (2)
