Early 19th Century

With sharply tapering blade of hollow triangular section, the forte on both sides etched and gilt with a martial trophy and foliage against the remains of a blued ground (worn), ormolu hilt of neo-classical design comprising down-swept side-guard cast with a classical trophy of arms against a granular ground, scrolled rear quillon, knuckle-guard with a lion-mask in an oval between foliage, curved pommel decorated en suite, swelling figured grip chequered over each side, and retaining most of its original gilding
