A French ANXI Cuirassier's Sword
No. E 778, Early 19th Century

Of regulation pattern, with fullered slightly shortened blade indistinctly etched with Klingenthal manufactory details along the back at the forte, and stamped with inspector's marks on one side, brass hilt of three bars swept-up to join the knuckle-guard, the latter numbered '497' and struck with an inspector's mark on one side, brass pommel-cap, and leather-covered grip bound with a strand of twisted brass wire, in its original steel scabbard, the upper suspension mount numbered '109' (blade and scabbard lightly pitted)
