A Caucasian Shasqua
Late 19th Century

With slightly curved blade (two small cutting edge nicks) double-edged at the point, the forte on one side inlaid in gold 'Work of Assadullah' in thuluth, characteristic nielloed silver hilt embossed and chased with scrolling foliage in low relief against a finely punched ground within beaded borders (one side of the beaked pommel with minor damage), in original wood-lined silver scabbard (locket area with slight damage) entirely decorated en suite with the hilt, suspension ring, and leather strap with silver clip also en suite with the hilt
