A Caucasian Shasqua
19th Century

With curved fullered blade (some wear and light pitting) retaining traces of etched crowned imperial eagle on both sides of the forte, characteristic beaked silver hilt embossed and chased with a flower-head and borders of repeated foliage on each side, mostly within further borders of beadwork, in original wooden scabbard covered in black leather seamed with brass wire (incomplete) along one side and with silver locket, chape and suspension mounts decorated en suite, and three silver rings for suspension
