A Turkish Flintlock Blunderbuss
19th Century

With two-stage barrel flared at the muzzle and damascened overall with running designs of foliage, a gold-damascened flower-head at the muzzle, long octagonal breech decorated en suite, the top flat with gold-damascened pseudo-inscription and struck with imitation Spanish barrelsmith's marks, silver-damascened tang and rounded lock, figured full stock profusely inlaid overall with silver scrollwork and leaf-shaped pellets, chequered grip and panel at the fore-end both enriched with silver pins, cast and chased silver-gilt mounts comprising trophy of arms side-plate, butt-plate with flowers on the tang, trigger-guard en suite, turned ramrod-pipes, silver escutcheon, and later ramrod
