A European Cuirassier Helmet

Of blackened russet steel, with fluted ovoidal two-piece skull (some denting) rising to a ring finial on a star-shaped washer, peaked fall with recessed turned edge and waved upper border, and upper-and lower-bevors all pivoted at the same points, the former with vision aperture with central flattened bar and turned, file-roped edge, pierced with three rectangular breaths on either side above a small star-shaped piercing, single neck-plate front and rear with recessed turned border, and bordered by dome-headed rivets
