Three Naval Gunner's Powder-Horns, And An Artillery Priming-Flask
Early 19th Century

The first formed from a section of polished cowhorn, circular wooden base-plug with turned swelling wooden handle threaded to form a stopper and stamped with a 'B' and broad arrow mark, turned conical brass nozzle with sprung brass tap, and two suspension rings; the second of similar form; the third with copper basal mount, nozzle and suspension rings (wooden stopper replaced); the last of characteristic form (4)
17.5 cm. to 37 cm.
