A VERY RARE CLOISONNE ENAMEL CUP STAND
Xuande six-character mark and of the period
Cast on the interior with a domed ring to the centre with a flat well and everted rim, finely enamelled to the centre with a lotus spray, enclosed by a band of lotus petals, and a register of eight composite floral sprays to the well, under a further band of lotus petals and crashing waves against a green ground at the rim, the base gilded, incised in regular script with a reign mark and a weng zi hao mark within a circle.

Cloisonné enamel cup stands of Xuande mark and period are extremely rare, only two other similar examples incised with seal mark appear to be published. The first, decorated with five alternating lotus and chrysanthemum sprays to the well and a band of cloud scrolls at the rim, is in the Palace Museum, Beijing, published in Compendium of Collections in the Palace Museum. Enamels, Vol. 1, Cloisonné in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, Hong Kong, 2011, no.60; the second example is in the Pierre Uldry Collection, decorated with six composite floral sprays to the well and a band of foliate scrolls at the rim, included in Chinese Cloisonné: The Pierre Uldry Collection, New York, 1989, no.23.

盞托呈圓盤式，折沿，盤中央凸起盞槽。盞托以淺藍色琺琅釉為地，盞槽內飾盛開的蓮花一朵，周圍蓮葉纏卷，盞槽凸起邊緣一周飾紅、黃、白、藍組合蓮瓣紋；槽外飾琺琅彩纏枝蓮花八組，細外緣飾蓮瓣紋一周，折沿上飾綠地白色海浪紋。外壁光素，底足中心單圈陰刻楷書「大明宣德年製」六字款及「翁字號」款。
此纏枝蓮紋盞托胎體厚重，色彩純正，為宣德時期掐絲琺琅的上乘之作。宣德年款掐絲琺琅作品十分罕見，有著錄者僅兩例，一例盞槽外飾五組琺琅彩纏枝蓮紋間以菊紋，邊飾雲紋，現藏於北京故宮博物院，載於《故宮博物院藏品大系：琺琅器編1·元明掐絲琺琅》，香港，2011年，編號60；另一例為Pierre Uldry收藏，盞槽外飾琺琅彩各式花卉六組，邊飾纏枝花紋，收錄於《Pierre Uldry藏中國掐絲琺琅器》，紐約，1989年，編號23。
香港佳士得亦售出一宣德年款近例，2013年11月27日，拍品3460。
