Unveiled in 2009, the first A. Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk rapidly became the new face of the highly respected German watchmaker vying for the coveted position of the Lange 1. Dubbed the "Time Bridge" crafted in German silver, the digital, simultaneous jump hour and minute display spans the length of the Zeitwerk's dial, with the subsidiary seconds ring at its center, making it a distinctly legible watch. To ensure the digital time display can switch all three discs instantaneously requires exceptional engineering, incorporating the use of a constant-force escapement and remontoire.
The present Zeitwerk date offers a different take on how the date is displayed compared to the Lange 1. The current date is highlighted in red under a frosted glass date ring on the edge of the dial. First time appearing in auction and complete with a full set, the fun jumping hour and minute display and monochromatic red date makes this watch sensually satisfying to look at on the wrist.
