Cook, James. 1728-1779; King, James. 1750-1784. A Voyage to the Pacific Ocean, Undertaken, by the Command of His Majesty, for Making Discoveries in the Northern Hemisphere. London: Printed by H. Hughs for G. Nicol and T. Cadell, 1785. Second edition, 3 vols. 4to (12 1/4 x 9 3/4 in.), modern binding of 1/2 brown calf over brown cloth, titles in silver on red paper labels to spines, plus 1 vol. folio of maps and illustrations (22 x 16 in.) in modern binding of 1/2 mottled calf over marbled boards. The three text volumes have 24 engraved plates, maps, and charts, 13 of which are folding, and one folding table. Folio volume has 61 engraved plates by John Webber and 2 folding maps. Some pages toned, overall a very clean and complete copy.
