HEMINGWAY, ERNEST. 1899-1961.

A Farewell to Arms. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1929. First edition, limited issue, 8vo, publisher's half-vellum over blue-green-paper-covered boards, title and author gilt to black leather label on spine, in patterned paper-covered slipcase, glassine dust jacket, number 360 of 510 copies, signed by Hemingway on limitation page. Slipcase has edge wear and top panel split on three out of four sides, most of spine and piece of front of glassine missing, slight toning to front board where glassine is missing, slight toning to top and bottom edges of boards. Pages uncut throughout.

This is the only one of Hemingway's major works to have a signed, limited edition. It was issued by Scribner's simultaneously with the trade version.
