43 in., .70 caliber round barrel, the top of the breech marked "CP"; flat lock plate with pointed tail marked "U.STATES." and below the rounded brass pan with an eagle over "NEW HAVEN.," the inside of the plate marked "J" and most parts and screw heads marked with a "t"; walnut stock with an indistinct cartouche on the flat behind the side plate and "2" stamped below the trigger guard; iron furniture of proper form with pointed trigger finial, sling swivels and steel rammer with button head and plain end.
