Iron hilt, the counter-guard with down turned quillon, reverse "P" knuckle bow connecting to a dove's head pommel with back strap, black leather covered wood grip; curved single-edge blade with false edge at the clipped tip, single wide fuller, stamped on the ricasso "US/P/LS/N.STARR," with leather washer at top of blade; black-painted iron hilt with two suspension rings.
