Two Painted Mutual Fire Society Fire Buckets,
likely Boston, Massachusetts, early 19th century.
The light blue-painted buckets with red-painted trim and leather handles, the front of the buckets with painted clasped hands emblem over a ribbon reading "Mutual Fire Society; one bucket dated "1806" and with name "Moses Sprague Junr.," the other bucket dated "1808" and with name "Justin Ripley," both buckets stamped "C.LINCOLN" on each side of the rear seam.
Ht. 13, dia. 8 in.
