Pierced fret with brass stop-fluted plinths over the double stop-fluted brass free-standing columns with cast brass Corinthian capitals, Roman numeral painted iron dial with a ship's scene in the arch, pierced hands, running seconds, and date aperture, signed "WM Fitz/Portsmouth," stop-fluted and Corinthian capital quarter columns flanking the bold fan and string inlaid waist door with similar decorated base, all resting on cut-out shaped feet, eight-day, time and hour strike brass movement regulated by pendulum, and two tin-cased weights , 48cm wide, 88cm high (19 1/4in wide, 34 1/2in high).
