Native American & Tribal Art | Bonhams Skinner
The March Native American & Tribal Art online auction features artefacts encompassing many of the world's tribal cultures, from the North American Indian tribes to objects from Africa, the South Pacific, and South-East Asia. The auction offers a trip around the globe, from its ritual figures from the Congo to shaman's masks from the Ivory Coast and the Himalayas to war clubs, bark cloth, and early stone tools from Melanesia and Polynesia. The sale has a wide range of North American artefacts such as Northwest Coast horn spoons and totems, California baskets, Navajo textiles and silver and turquoise jewellery, Hopi katsinas, and Southwest pottery. The auction also features an extensive collection of Plains Indian beadwork from the Dean Taylor collection of Denver, Colorado, as well as several collections of reference books and auction catalogues of world tribal art.
