circa 1980,
black finish, drums with 1979/80 octagon and square badge styles, comprising: snare approx 14inch; two Toms, approx 14inch and 16inch; floor Tom 14inch; bass drum approx 24inch, with Yardbirds logo; Zildjian China Boy Crash cymbal approx 20inch; Sabian B8X cymbal approx 18in; Sabian Solar cymbal approx 18inch; Hi-hat x2 Solar 14 1/2inch cymbals; together with bass drum pedal, stands, seat, and pair of drumsticks, each drum and cymbal signed by Jim McCarty in black inks, accompanied by the original stencilled fibre cases and a letter of provenance from McCarty,

Provenance:
Offered directly by Jim McCarty, drummer with the Yardbirds.

Purchased in the early 1980s, this kit was used for both recording sessions with the Box Of Frogs and live work with the reformed Yardbirds until 2005. The bass drum and toms are original but the cymbals and stands have been replaced over the years with the exception of the Zildjian China Boy cymbal, which is original.

Formed in 1983, the Box Of Frogs core members were former Yardbirds Chris Dreja, Paul Samwell-Smith and McCarty. Guest musicians over the years have included Ian Dury, Roger Chapman, Earl Slick, Rory Gallagher, Steve Hackett, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. McCarty was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 as a member of the Yardbirds.
