Mohamed Benmoussa was born in 1953 in Chaouen, Morocco. He was a plastic arts teacher in Tangier and has now retired. Mohamed is part of an important generation of painters of the 1970s. His work is part of some prestigious private and public collections.

He mixes improbable mediums such as tar, oil painting or acrylic. From sensitive subjects such as women at daily work, he manages to offer subtle abstract compositions.

This work can make us think about a human, in the same way as we might think about an animal. Benmoussa often has this double reference: humans and animals (for example, bird and cats).
