Trio of Gothic Archway Pillars Screen Used in Episode: "The Howling Man" of The Twilight Zone.

CBS, 1959-1964. Group of 3 vintage studio-made and screen used gothic archway pillars constructed of cast fiberglass and composite materials with 37.5 in. long x 8 in. round shaft, with a tiered footed base and the top capped by a floral, finial crown. Expertly studio painted and finished to appear as carved gray stone. A wooden dowel is embedded in the central shaft for reinforcement and possibly for use in connecting the pillars to other set pieces or components. In Season 2, Episode 5's gothic horror-themed story, the pillars are highly visible throughout as a signature feature of the set design in archways and windows. Notably, they are featured in the archway that "Ellington" (H. M. Wynant) is seen peering out of directly following Rod Serling's introduction. Ellington also swings on a pillar outside of "Brother Jerome's" (classic horror heavyweight, John Carradine) quarters. The pillared archways also serve as a backdrop to "Satan's" (Robin Hughes) ultimate escape. The pillars exhibit age, production wear, and with one pillar cracked in the center but intact. Incredibly rare relics from a landmark TV series. With a corresponding still.
47 height x 22.5 round x 37.5 long in.
