Document Signed ("Andrew Jackson") as President, being a patent issued to James Cooper, inventor of a machine for threshing clover seed, 1 p, folio, 390 x 285 mm, Washington DC, February 20, 1836, on vellum, with vestiges of paper and wax seal, signed and accomplished in ink. Fold creases, browning.
WITH: A patent application signed ("James Cooper"), 2 pp, small folio, on vellum, docketed as received at the patent office December 23, 1837, with yellow embossed paper seal of the U.S. Patent office, being an application for a patent on a different threshing machine designed by Cooper. Fold creases, browning and light soiling.
WITH: 3 other patent documents, including a letter of application from Cooper dated 1839, a printed receipt of application form accomplished in ink and signed by Henry Ellsworth, Commission of patents, and an autograph note to cooper signed by Ellsworth. All with typical fold creases and toning.
