LESSON, PIERRE ADOLPHE. 1805-1888.

Legendes des Iles Hawaii Tirees de Fornander.... Niort & Rochefort: M. Clouzot and Mme. Quoniam, 1884.
8vo. Errata laid in before title. Publisher's printed pale blue wrappers, leaves untrimmed. Light chipping to spine ends, slight wear to spine, a little browning at page edges.

A supplement to Lesson's main work Les Polynesians which he regretfully did not include in the original text. Translated from the advertisement: "I do not want to deprive my argument of the precious support that they give to it, because they prove the frequency and facility of the contacts between Polynesians of the south and those of the north, and even the community of their origin." Forbes vol 4, p 128.
