FAVORITE FOODS OF FAMOUS PEOPLE.

[NEGROTTO, ALICE OLIVIER. 1925-1995.] Archive of signed correspondence and photographs collected by cookbook author Alice Negrotto,
contained in 2 3-ring binders, 4to, with recipes, letters, photographs and ephemera signed to Negrotto from "famous people," used in the compilation of her book Favorite Foods of Famous People, published New Orleans, 1971.

Alice Negrotto over two decades collected favorite recipes from famous people from all walks of life. Sometimes she would meet them, many of the signed items are on programs from appearances in the New Orleans area, and sometimes she would write letters requesting the response. The responses vary greatly and length, care, and joie de vivre, but signed correspondence or photographs include Ella Fitzgerald, Jimmy Durante, Benny Goodman, Dizzy Dean, Paul Newman, Bob Hope, Alfred Hitchcock, George Burns, Chet Huntley, Norman Rockwell, Frank Sinatra, Gloria Swanson, Marlene Dietrich, Dr. Joyce Brothers, Muhammad Ali, Buzz Aldrin, John Glenn, Wernher von Braun, Neil Armstrong, Hank Aaron, Richard and Patricia Nixon, Spiro Agnew, Bess Truman, Eleanor Roosevelt, Mamie Eisenhower, Bear Bryant, Norman Vincent Peale, among others. An utterly charming project with an impressive list of correspondents. For a complete list, please contact department.
