A History of the American People. New York and London: Harper & Brothers, 1902.
5 volumes, 8vo. Numerous black and white illustrations. Publisher's green linen, gilt lettering pieces on spine, top edges gilt. Corners a bit rubbed, slightly loose, front hinge of volume I cracking, lettering pieces chipping.
Provenance: J.L. and E.B. Ketterlinus, Philadelphia (bookplate on front paste-down); Charles H. Milburn (bookplate on front free endpaper).

SIGNED BY WOODROW WILSON AS PRESIDENT on front flyleaf "Woodrow Wilson / Washington, D.C. / 3 November 1915." Wilson took office in 1913, serving 2 terms as President before being excluded by Democratic Party leadership from running for a third term in the 1920 election. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1919 for establishing the League of Nations in the wake of World War I.
