Provenance: Helen Nerborig (authorial presentation inscription).

FIRST EDITION, TRADE ISSUE, INSCRIBED PRESENTATION FROM NIELSEN: "For Helen Nerborig / With kindest regards / Kay Nielsen / June 2, 1939." One of the crowning achievements of the Golden Age of book illustration, featuring Nielsen's fantastic art deco illustrations. Inscribed copies of Nielsen's masterpiece are rare in the marketplace, and we trace none at auction in Rare Book Hub. Ray England 333.
